The Explorers program is a branch of the Boy Scouts of America designed for young persons aged 14-21. Police Explorers participate in many activities including assisting officers at community functions and assisting with D.A.R.E. events.
Ofc. Skip Rasfeld
Explorers also receive hands on training from Police Officers and have the opportunity to go on field trips to such places as the Clermont County Jail and the Clermont County Communications Center.
In April of each year Police Explorers throughout the Tri-State region meet on Way Cross Road in Forest Park for their annual Police Explorer Competition. At the competition a panel judges the Explorers' knowledge and performance abilities in such events as: crash investigation, crime scene investigation, hostage negotiation, domestic violence, etc. The winners of these events receive a trophy for the event in which they finished in the top three. There are normally over twenty explorer posts that compete in this event.
