This is a basic computer class teaching the components of a computer including the operating system, basic computer terminology, how to navigate in the Windows environment, file management and basics such as creating and saving documents, shortcuts, moving around in documents, and using help. Learn how to change the look of your desktop and how to send an email message.

Microsoft Word for Beginners provides information and hands-on practice about the many functions of Microsoft Word including document formatting, drawing, page layouts, clip art, office templates and much more. Some basic experience with a word processor or Microsoft Word is preferred. The class will be taught using Microsoft Word 2003; however, the skills can easily transfer to the 2007 version.

Ever wonder about internet safety? Is my credit card really secure? Do you know how to use facebook, myspace and the other social networking sites? Do you know how to earn money for reading emails and shopping online? What is Wikipedia or where can I find the weather for Fairbanks, Alaska? Mike Cann will address all of these questions and more. This is a fun class that will open up your world to many new avenues on the internet.
BEYOND WORD

Did you buy a Microsoft Office Suite and have no idea what to do with the other applications beyond MS Word? MS Office packages a variety of Suite options and we'll begin to explore three of them: MS Publisher (create signs, greeting cards, posters), MS Excel (calculate and analyze data), and MS Access (organize data). We will even demonstrate how they can work together (merge to create mailing labels). Prerequisite: familiarity with Microsoft Word; opening and closing files and using toolbars.

Introduction to EBay course provides instruction on how to search for the items you want, how to post your items for sale and how to buy the items you want. The majority of the class will focus on selling items. The instructor will take you step by step through the process of registering for Ebay, taking pictures, listing an item and shipping to buyers. Every participant will list at least one item for sale. This course will also cover buying and selling on Craig's list.
INTRO. TO EXCEL

Microsoft Excel is a common option included in the Microsoft Office Suite that is used to organize, calculate and analyze data. In this introductory course, we will create simple worksheets and charts. We will explore common functions (calculations) and reports. Prerequisite: familiarity with Microsoft Word; opening and closing files and using toolbars.

He received his Master's Degree from the University of Cincinnati in administration with focus on integrating technology into the classroom.
