The Miami Township Board of Trustees and Police Department recognized 20 Years of Service by Officers Rob Heideman and Gary Roush to the Miami Township Police and the community. Both officers began working for the MTPD on June 1, 1990 and both are long time residents of the Township.
Officer Roush has 27 years of law enformcement experience and began his career in 1983 - serving 6 years with the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department before coming to Miami Township. Officer Heideman has served Miami Township as a Patrol Officer and as an Investigator.
"Both officers bring many years of experience and training to their duties and are part of the foundation of this department" said Miami Township Police Chief Steve Bailey. "The Miami Township Police salutes these two officers on their milestone anniversary and thank them for all they have contributed to the Miami Township community."
Chief R. Steven Bailey has been Chief of the Miami Township Police Department since May 1995. Chief Bailey graduated from the 203d Session of the FBI National Academy in December 2000. He is a graduate of Class 119 of the Northwestern University Traffic Institute School of Police Staff and Command. He is also a graduate of Session 16 of the Ohio Police Executive Leadership College (P.E.L.C.).
