Miami Township Police Explorer Post 426 has been selected by the Law Enforcement Executive Committee as the '2010 Explorer Post of the Year.' The award highlighted the members involvement within the community, the rapid growth of the unit and the high level of activity that included field trips, council events and meetings.
Exploring is a program of the Boy Scouts of America and provides an opportunity for young men and women, ages 14-20, to investigate career options by participating directly in the work and mirror organizations. The Miami Township Police Explorer Post is organized like a small Police Department.
Unit members participate in training and experiential opportunities while assisting the MTPD with major projects such as the Holiday Parade, Super Senior Saturday and MidSummer at the Meadows.
