Right-of-Way Permit
Permit applications can be obtained at the Service Department or you can DOWNLOAD IT HERE (pdf file). When submitting an application for a permit, a processing fee of $50.00 is required before any work can start. Applications should be mailed with payment or taken to the Miami Township Service Department Office located at 6007 Meijer Drive during office hours (M-F 8:00 am - 4:00 pm).
What type of work requires a Right-of-Way permit? Driveway repairs or installations that require placement of a culvert pipe. Residents who wish to fill in an open ditch with frontage tile would be required to obtain a permit. New homes, when tapping into the water and sewer lines located in the right-of-way require a permit. For information regarding permits for water and sewer, please refer to Clermont County Permit Central.
As a condition to the approval of the Right-of-Way permit, the applicant must submit plans indicating the location, size, type, and duration of the excavation contemplated. Methods of excavation, refilling, and resurfacing must also be specified. The use of warning devices may be required if necessary to protect travelers. The Township also requires that the applicant indemnify the Township against liability or damages as a result of the excavation. In certain cases, a maintenance bond may be required in an amount sufficient to satisfy any anticipated township cost associated with the excavation and/or repair of township roads and/or right-of-ways. If you have any question if your project would require a Right-of-Way permit, please call the Service Department at 248-3728 or email the Service Director.
