From the Director
Spring is in the air and summer is right around the corner. That’s what so great about living in our area of the country we can always look forward to a new season and in our case new activities. We have been busily preparing for our upcoming summer season. Check out all our offerings we have for children three years of age to twelve. We’ve added a few new camps for school agers and have added some mini- camps for preschoolers perfect for mom’s that just want a few hours to themselves.
In addition to our programs we have a great line up of events in the coming months so be sure to mark your calendars. We have finalized our summer concert series and are excited about the acts we have booked. We have community performances as well as some well known local groups and our wonderful season finale in August with the Clermont Philharmonic Orchestra.
Our free events are awesome and if you have never been to one you must attend one this year. May 4 is our annual senior expo” Super Senior Saturday” which is a do not miss if you need information on quality of life issues for seniors and baby boomers. Coming up on Sat. April 20 we kick off the season with the Kid’s Only Fishing Tournament at Miami Meadows Lake. Enjoy the beauty of the park and our wonderful catch and release lake.
Spring is a great time to take advantage of the incredible park system we have here in Miami Township. Take a walk or bike ride on one of our paved trails and enjoy the beauty of nature. Our Disc Golf Course at Community Park is a fun and free source of physical activity for people of all ages and it’s located in a beautiful park setting. We have a fantastic dog park at Miami Meadows that is a huge source of enjoyment for pets and their owners.
I hope you can find the time to smell the roses this spring in our great community and take advantage of some of the activities, programs and events our Recreation Dept. has to offer. Happy Spring!
