Traffic Safety

National Highway Traffic Safety Administration

Over 90 percent of Americans believe that running a red light is "extremely" or "very" dangerous. AND Two in three Americans see other drivers run red lights almost every day

Red still means STOP !

Accidents caused by red light runners are generally more serious since they generally occur at a faster speed and result in a side impact collision. Most vehicles are not well equipped to protect their occupants from a side impact collision. Don't take a chance, if a light turns yellow while you approach, stop instead of running the light. The life you save may be your own.
Each year in the United States more than 800 people die and an estimated 200,000-plus are injured in crashes that involve red light running. More than half of the deaths are pedestrians and occupants in other vehicles who are hit by the red light runners, (source IIHS)
